Casa Pazos

A nice, quiet stay, with clean rooms and a bathroom we especially liked. The reception staff were very kind and accommodating. A few small things could make the rooms more practical for pilgrims with lots of gear: hooks in the bedroom, towel racks in the bathroom, working vanity lights, and table lamps beside the beds.

The staff were so friendly when we arrived, and getting straight from the hotel into the neighbouring hotel’s restaurant was easy. The food there was decent and not expensive. Our room felt modern and was very clean and comfortable, with a TV, Wifi, desk lamps, and a really nice en-suite bathroom.

There were six of us, staying one night before setting off on the Camino. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well equipped, and we really liked the beds and showers. Snow greeted us in the morning, but inside we’d stayed lovely and warm. I was genuinely surprised by how good the place was.

Food choices in town can be very limited. Everything was closed on Tuesday when we were there except for one place, so I’d call ahead to check what will be open. If nothing else, the Tienda at the gas station across the street sells food, including meat and cheese. We stayed in a double room in this excellent modern building, and the shower was great. The towels and shower gel were mediocre, though about what I expected for the price. It was a special occasion, and they’d left flowers in the room. They also picked us up and dropped us back off in O Cebreiro. Highly recommended.
