Breakfast was fresh and nicely laid out, and there’s plenty of room in the dining area. The staff were warm and helpful. It’s an authentic rural hotel, with clean, nicely decorated rooms, in a scenic medieval village in the mountains north of Madrid.

We’ll definitely come back. The town and the surrounding landscape are worth visiting regularly, and this was a comfortable place to stay with a great breakfast.

The attic room was lovely, and the hotel is right in the center, with shops and restaurants all around. But for over €100 a night, I expected better upkeep. It’s nice enough, though it needs some renovation. The hallways are long and the lights don’t come on automatically, so you’re always feeling along the wall for the switch. The tiny TV was disappointing, and the toilet was so cramped it was almost uncomfortable to sit on. There was also a yellow mark on the seat that wouldn’t come off with bleach. If it can’t be cleaned, it should be replaced. That’s a real hygiene concern. We could hear the couple next door making noise all night, too. The rooms aren’t well soundproofed.
