Aparthotel Jacaranda

The photos don’t match the place at all. It’s in the old town, and the apartment really is old and poorly renovated. We were given a room on the fourth floor with no lift. The stairs were so steep and narrow they seemed endless, and hauling our suitcases up was quite an adventure. They did mention it was the only room with a terrace, but the heat made it unusable. Inside, the room looked nothing like the pictures. The bathroom had no door or partition, so one person had to use it in full view while the other cooked. For a little privacy, the other person had to go out onto the terrace. There was no hot water at night, apparently because there wasn’t enough for the whole building. They also charged us a week ahead, I imagine so we couldn’t change our minds. Look at the photos and decide for yourselves.

The apartment was clean, but I found it too dark. There weren’t even lights above the makeup mirror, so it was completely unlit. Also, the bathroom has no door, which only works if you’re very comfortable with each other. I didn’t find the little bottles shown in the photos, just two complimentary bottles of water. We stayed a few days in a beautiful spot in the historic center, on the city walls next to the church. It’s very well located, but getting down to the beach from the rest of town means a fair bit of walking, and the hills and stairs are steep. Parking was incredibly difficult. In some parts of town, parking is free until June 1st.

A spectacular little apartment with everything you need, and it’s super comfortable. The stairs are quite narrow and there’s no elevator, but it’s worth it.

Not a good choice for a long stay. My wife and I spent four days in the apartment on the 4th, top floor. It’s nice, but VERY tight for a double bed, bathroom, and a small counter with only the basics: a very small ceramic hob, microwave, and practically no worktop. There’s no oven, washing machine, or other kitchen equipment such as a toaster or blender. It does have air conditioning and two terraces with nice views, though those are only on the 4th floor. The biggest problem is there’s no ELEVATOR/FREIGHT ELEVATOR, so getting in is extremely difficult with luggage or children. The STAIRS are narrow and steep. You also have to collect the keys at the MUVA beach resort at the bottom of the village, making the walk to the apartment even harder, especially since cars aren’t allowed in the village.
