Casa Bosque Albite

The place is pretty, but the person managing it takes away all its charm. We had to leave the dishes clean and carry our rubbish to the village bin. She might as well have asked us to do the laundry and make the beds too. There’s no privacy in the house, since she keeps watch over what the guests are doing all day. I asked her for the bill several times, and I still haven’t received it.

The pool was in awful shape, with dirty, mold-covered windows and water full of bugs and hair. The bathroom door wouldn’t close even when forced, and she told us she’d be monitoring the pool with a camera. That left us uneasy, since you never know when she’s watching. Inside and out, the house was a disaster. It was filthy, with ants, other people’s hair, and a dental aligner that clearly wasn’t ours. There were no blankets on the beds, just a measly sheet, and we were cold every night because there was only one blanket for everyone. In Asturias, that’s not enough to sleep warmly. We had to buy toilet paper, salt, sugar, and oil because there was nothing. There weren’t enough dishes for our group either, and the few provided were half broken. I definitely wouldn’t repeat this experience.

The bill is still outstanding. I’m still trying to get it and haven’t received it. With the management like this, I can’t recommend the place unless that changes, though it’s privately owned, so that seems unlikely. It’s a shame, because the house has potential and facilities. The owner’s rude, arrogant behavior ruins it, and she shows no consideration for guests. One blanket for six people, and two rolls of toilet paper for six people over three days? I’ve never come across anything like that. I’ve worked in accommodation management for more than 15 years, so I know the business.

The house is fabulous, but upkeep is lacking. The ping-pong table, dryer, toaster, and some other furniture need attention. Tiles were missing from the pool, and we all ended up cutting ourselves.
