We were four hikers on the GR7, coming to Pitres from Soportujar, and the owners wouldn't accommodate us for just one night. They said a one-night stay was too much trouble and sent us to a local hotel or campsite. We came to La Alpujarras for a local experience, not to stay in hotels, so I don't understand why hikers should have to use a campsite or hotel. In Soportujar we stayed in a rural apartment without any problems.

Even in the rain, the view from the doorstep is beautiful. It's a lovely, typically old Spanish mountain town, and the kind, helpful locals made the trip one to remember. I'll definitely go back.
In the heart of the Alpujarra region, surrounded by nature, Casa Launa was just the place we wanted for our holiday. It sits conveniently in the village, with easy access and plenty of parking. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, especially the main bedroom's very comfortable 1.50m bed. We enjoyed dinners outside on the terrace, with mountain views. For families, there's a sports center right next door where children can play freely while supervised. We'll definitely return!
We spent four days at this house with friends over New Year's and got to explore more of the Alpujarras. The weather was on our side, so we visited the villages and tried local food. We had excellent service at La Fragua in Trevélez and Restaurante La Carretera in Pitres. The house is comfortable and well-equipped, and the owners shared plenty of useful information about the area. Their kindness and clear explanations made everything easier. It's well placed for hiking, and the area isn't too crowded. We'd recommend it to anyone hoping to explore the region, and we'll be back.
Casa Launa was warm throughout our February week, thanks to two gas stoves, a radiator, and the living room fireplace. The owners provided some firewood, and we bought more from them at a good price. They also gave us lots of information, with extra details available in brochures and other papers in the house. We slept really well on the new bed with its 150cm double mattress. There was time to explore the region and sample the local food at restaurants and bars, too. A nice house at good prices, and I definitely recommend it for the quality and value. Best regards, Maria.
