Hotel Azar

We know Hotel Azar well and have stayed there many times because of its location. This time, though, there was a serious issue with the booking. On 17 September 2025, I booked a night for 30 September through the hotel's own website. The confirmation came from an unusual email address and added a significant charge on top of the price shown on the site. When I questioned the substantial booking fee at check-in, I was told the reservation was through Booking.com and had already been paid. The hotel showed me Booking.com’s authorisation and treated that as the source of the booking. That wasn't true. The receptionist said she knew about the unusual email that had actually confirmed my reservation. Booking.com understandably aren't asking us to review a stay we didn't book through them. Be careful using the hotel's website, as the cost may be higher than the price it quotes.

Our car broke down, so we had to find somewhere to stay without a reservation. This was the closest hotel to the dealership, and what a pleasant surprise: the price was affordable, and the room was large, very clean and comfortable, with a balcony and a nice view. Breakfast was a good buffet, and the bar was lovely, with excellent bar snacks. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I'd happily stay here again.

Good value for the price, and it had all the basics I needed for a restful night while driving. Very competitive rates.

We had a great night here on our way south. It was a handy place to stop, and the helpful staff were a plus. I didn't expect it to be so good for children too, with a play area and a garden outside.
