Hotel Rincón Extremeño

We were in Plasencia because our campervan needed repairs, so we needed a hotel. The welcome was easy and kind, even with our little dog, and we really appreciated the hospitality. Everything was very clean, and there was even a small kitchen with dishes and cutlery. The location is special, on a quiet side street right beside Plaza Mayor, with excellent restaurants nearby. Thank you so much.

The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the hotel is in the historic centre of Plasencia. One problem if you're there on a weekend: there's a bar right next door playing music until 5 in the morning. In the rooms closest to it, the noise is hard to sleep through and you can feel it rumbling in the walls.

We were welcomed by a very friendly, pleasant woman, and the room was spotless. They even had a bed and a water bowl ready for our dog. It was nice and cool when we arrived, a relief in the heat. The place is right by the main square and has a small fridge, TV, and a very clean sink. There’s a restaurant with a terrace downstairs, but we didn’t hear any noise. Good value for the price, and I’d recommend it if you’re visiting Plasencia.

The sewage smell was unbearable from the moment we entered, and at night there was a smell of fried food too. The rooms were noisy because of the bars downstairs, the windows had no insulation, and the light woke us up because the old corded blind on the window wouldn’t move. When we asked to change rooms because of the smell, the cleaning lady was the only person who helped solve the problem. Nobody else helped, and they didn't even reply to my WhatsApp message. The hotel says it dates from 1930, though I think the facilities have been renovated since then. The location would have been excellent if only we hadn't had to drive through a restricted area for authorized personnel without being told beforehand. I hope we don't get a fine. If only the price had been reasonable.
