We'd been looking at this hotel with interest for 15 years, ever since walking past it, and finally stayed for the first time. It's small and unpretentious, but well appointed and very pleasant. We've stayed at most of the hotels along Playa Blanca seafront. If you're after lots of services and people, this isn't the place. But if you like a small, attractive, well-cared-for hotel, friendly daily contact with staff, stunning views and lovely outdoor space, it's one to try. Only three of the 12 rooms were occupied during our visit. Daisy made us feel comfortable and welcome, baking a different fresh cake for each breakfast buffet. Everything was done with a smile, and nothing was too much trouble. Secure parking was easy, and the location is perfect, with little noise despite being close to the main strip. It was a fabulous place to enjoy the sun and pool, have a sunset G&T, walk out for dinner, then come back for a comfortable nightcap overlooking the sea or the bright lights of PB or the Marina. Yes, we'd stay again.

This was my third visit to Casa Del Embajador, and I hope to return again soon. The location is fantastic, looking over the promenade and sea, with the beach and nightlife just a short distance away. The pool is very good and the outdoor area is relaxed. There's an honesty bar and facilities for making coffee. It feels like a family home with B&B guests, which suits me. The staff are good but tend to keep in the background. Breakfast is good, though a little predictable. If you want to get away from it all and be left alone, it's great. If you're after high-end pampering and lots of fuss, perhaps it isn't for you. That's the relaxed experience you're paying for, and I like it.

It's our third stay in three years, so we clearly love this property and overlook its minor problems because it's such a special place. This time, though, the lack of air conditioning was difficult when temperatures reached 30 degrees. It has a home-from-home feel, and you're pretty much left to your own devices. A charming hotel in a tasteful old colonial-style building. It's family run, and they were very accommodating. I'd definitely return. I only took off one star because there was no air conditioning.

Casa del Embajador was closed, so I only got to see the outside. The building is beautiful, charming, well kept and full of local character. I'd love to see inside and spend a few nights there.
