Hotel Mirador Papagayo by LIVVO

The food was excellent, especially the New Year’s Eve meal, with outstanding dishes and brilliant service. Mexican night was another highlight. The restaurant manager, a man with an earpiece whose name I didn’t get, was fantastic, friendly and helpful, and all the restaurant staff were lovely. Daniel at the bar showed what great customer service looks like. Angela in the kids’ club was brilliant; our daughters took a real liking to her, and she made their holiday extra special. A big thank you to her. The hotel was really clean, the annexe pool was great, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Shops, beaches and bars were within walking distance. It was our first stay here, and we thought it was absolutely fabulous. We highly recommend it and will be back.

A lovely, very clean hotel with nice food, a big outdoor pool and a spa. It’s in a quiet spot, about a 20-minute walk from the harbour and beach. Highly recommended if you want a peaceful, relaxing holiday.

We stayed in a suite with access to the Privilege Lounge, which added comfort and worked particularly well for half-board. The spa was a highlight, relaxing and good value at £20 for 90 minutes, and the gym was well kept and fine for a basic workout. The animation team stayed enthusiastic and welcoming despite the hotel being quieter during our visit, and we enjoyed joining the games and activities. We spent Christmas at Mirador Papagayo by LIVVO in Playa Blanca and had a very relaxing, enjoyable stay. The atmosphere was lovely and the location beautiful and peaceful. Christmas dinner was excellent and well organised, with lots of hard work and attention to detail from the kitchen team. Housekeeping was the one area that could be more consistent: during our longer stay, room servicing and bedding changes didn’t always happen as regularly as expected. We mentioned it at reception. It didn’t significantly affect our enjoyment, and we’d be very happy to return.

The restaurant service ranges from great to awful depending on who’s working. One woman clearing dishes was simply rude to everyone. Lunch was awful, so totally avoid it. The fries are inedible and sit out for hours. Breakfast was good and dinner okay. The hotel feels cheap without an evening coffee machine, and the room’s coffee and milk supply is poor, just two small cartons a day. One member of the dish-clearing staff needs training or replacing. The hotel cat is really nice and seems to know a lot about customer service.
