Playa Flamingo A

The coastal paths are lovely for a walk, with views of Fuerteventura and the cliffs. Playa Flamingo also felt calmer and less crowded than some of Lanzarote’s better-known beaches. I’d happily come back here, whether for a quiet day or a family visit. The bay is sheltered by breakwaters, so the water is gentle, and on a sunny day the ocean looks stunning. The soft pale sand and clear water are great for swimming and relaxing, including with small children. The beach is well kept, too. There’s a promenade right by the shore, with cafés and restaurants for seafood, a snack or coffee with an ocean view. Prices seemed reasonable, and the service was friendly. Nearby shops and the option to rent sunbeds and umbrellas make it easy to spend the day there. It’s clean, pretty and has good facilities, one of the best beaches I visited in Lanzarote.

The white sand is artificial, but it’s much nicer to me than the black sand found across the island. The water is clear with a sandy bottom, and swimming was great. It’s a cozy, pretty little beach with a vibe like at Calais in Cala d‘or in Mallorca. It is small and full of kids, though.

The calm, shallow water and sand make this a lovely family spot, even for babies and children. I swam well out into the beautiful water at Playa Flamingo and saw fish of different kinds. It felt like swimming in a pool in the sea.

The shops behind this beach are markets and restaurants, and the place has a lovely, cool feel, a bit like Playa Dorada, though smaller. The downside is that some sellers walk along the sand bothering you to buy a towel or a football shirt.
