Sanom Beach Resort - Adults Only

Sanom Beach Resort had a lovely calm feel throughout, and the bungalow was comfortable and made it easy to relax. We had a wonderful weekend away together. Breakfast was filling and delicious, and the service there was especially attentive and friendly. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. I’d highly recommend it.

Breakfast came to the table and tasted good, and the waitress was kind, but the choices were limited. Having the same thing all five days got repetitive. Our room was large and quiet, so we slept well. They missed cleaning it one day, but the waitress was genuinely sorry and we accepted her apology. We stayed five nights. The resort was okay, though well below what we expected. There was no happy hour or other organized events. I’ve been to Gran Canaria seven times, and I wouldn’t recommend this resort. There are much better hotels.

The room had a small cooler rather than a fridge, which was annoying. I asked at reception and was told that drinks needed to be put in already cold. It kept them cold, but didn’t cool them down. The hotel has a restaurant, but it’s not cheap, and I wish they offered a cheaper breakfast and dinner package. There are plenty of local restaurants nearby. We stayed four nights. The hotel seemed clean, and the room was spacious. The Nespresso machine was nice, but only four capsules were free, so I bought more at the supermarket. There were no spoons, just wooden sticks. The pool is nice, with lots of seating areas and beds. I’d read comments about safe charges. I stayed at another hotel for a few nights, and they charged extra for the safe too. Maybe that’s common on this island. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.

Thieves in the room Last January, I stayed here for five nights with two friends in a triple room. On our last evening, while we were out, someone got into the room and stole several personal belongings, including cash and a debit card. There were no signs of forced entry. The management denies responsibility. We don’t understand how it happened, but of course we have our suspicions. I’ll never return to this resort, and I don’t recommend going there.
