Hotel VIDA Santa Cristina

Do not stay here. It was the worst hotel I've ever encountered, and its claim to be cycling friendly gave us little hope. We were a group of ten, nine cyclists and me supporting them. The person who booked had a lot of trouble convincing the new management that we'd reserved five double rooms. They insisted they were full and could only fit us in four rooms, even though booking sites still showed availability. We'd also arranged dinner and breakfast, which became a saga. I arrived about an hour before the cyclists to drop off the luggage. It took around 30 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our booking. They denied that we'd booked a meal and said the restaurant wasn't open. After the cyclists arrived, they agreed to feed us, though it turned out another coach party had already booked food. Breakfast was another problem. They refused to provide it, saying we'd agreed the night before but hadn't paid in advance, even though nobody had asked us to pay. The place is a shambles. The 'manager' was among the most inept, arrogant, and argumentative people we've dealt with. It's disorganized, and the beds, baths, and showers in some rooms were appalling. The facilities and management both need an overhaul. At least Fawlty Towers was funny!
