Villa March

The setting was a real highlight, with gorgeous mountain views and an easy 20-minute walk into Pollensa. The outside area is lovely too, and the pool and table tennis were good. But we had to buy replacement bats and balls because the ones there were falling apart, and the mosquitoes left us all covered in bites. We paid a lot through Vrbo for a week with our family of five at Villa March, Pollensa, at the end of July during a very hot spell, and the house was badly suited to that weather. The inside felt dark and heavy, with furniture and decor that seemed unchanged since the 1970s. Although it was advertised as air conditioned, only the bedrooms had AC, and it ran in 20-minute bursts until 10 p.m. We kept having to get up and restart it. The front room unit also leaked so badly that we put a saucepan under it each evening. Inside, it was oppressively hot. A lot of things were worn out or failed during the stay: wardrobe handles came off, a bed leg broke, and the dishwasher stopped working. The bathrooms were very dated. Showers had broken holders and weak water flow, and the ensuite shower was tiny, about the width of a toilet, and leaked onto the bathroom floor. Wi-Fi worked only about 10% of the time. The TV was basic, with no DVDs or games provided. The mattresses weren't mentioned, but we expected more for the price. Owl bookings responded quickly when we reported problems. They came to address the air-conditioning leak, brought fans, and tried to fix the Wi-Fi twice. It only worked properly on the day we left. They refunded us some money at the end of the week because so much had gone wrong. I posted a review on Vrbo and it was taken down. I suspect negative reviews are being removed, since I couldn't see any others from that year. I wouldn't recommend staying here in very hot weather, despite the beautiful location.
