The owner made dinner and breakfast for us before we set off toward the next town on our Camino. We’d stopped in O Poriño, and although this peaceful, relaxing place is quite a distance for peregrinos, we managed to arrange a taxi. The owner was really kind and accommodating.

The father and the waiter serving breakfast were kind, and the surroundings are lovely and quiet. But it’s away from town and a bit hard to find. The rooms were a real letdown: very old furniture, a rock-hard mattress, little armchairs with ripped upholstery, dirty curtains, and mismatched sheet colors. The shower handset holder was broken too. There’s no air conditioning or heating, so I wouldn’t recommend coming in winter. Breakfast was whatever they chose to serve, with only coffee with milk or colacao to choose from.

The booking price wasn’t honored, and it went up when we paid. The person handling reservations hadn’t sent me an email confirmation. We spent two days at this rural guesthouse, and the stay was very negative: the room was dirty and the furniture looked like it belonged in an early 20th-century film. If you want rooms that are comfortable, clean, and tidy, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
