Hotel A Casa do Río

We had a balcony room looking out over the river, with a furniture factory on the opposite bank. Even with the wind coming from that direction, we noticed no unpleasant smell, and the factory didn't disturb our stay with noise either. The location is right on the Camino, just before the bridge at Padron. Reception staff were polite and helpful. Some people mention the factory smell, although it's about 500 m away.

The walk to Padrón was hard but manageable. The stay was lovely, even if it felt a little pricey.

The air conditioning made a loud, odd noise overnight and kept waking us. There aren't many people around the hotel, so restaurant choices nearby are limited. The staff were amazing and very attentive, and their transport service to Padrón was a big help. We really liked the hotel.

The building's lovely, with the creaks and groans you'd expect from an old place being modernised. I actually like its working-area setting, away from the usual tourist trappings, though the location has its quirks. It's great value, with cheerful, friendly, very helpful staff and local restaurants and amenities nearby. I've stayed in much worse places at twice the price. Highly recommended.
