After walking two legs of the Camino in the rain, with poor planning and last-minute room searches leaving us short on options, this place saved us. It was a great price for a private room with two beds compared with a hostel. There were clean beds, hot showers, nice staff, and a dining room connected to the lobby. I’m rating it highly for that, even though it isn’t perfect. Sometimes an old-school hotel like this works better than Airbnb, where a last-minute booking might not get confirmed in time or the lock box might not have a key.

The old-style lift works fine, and the wifi was perfect. The rate was very reasonable and included breakfast at 7 am on weekdays. The building is old, but the bathroom has been renovated well and was super clean, with new towels. My bedroom was spacious and tidy, with an oldish feel and a good bed. The receptionist was efficient and friendly, and knew who I was as soon as I arrived.

The helpful staff and central spot right on the Camino were good, and the town is nice. It’s a bit shabby and tired, though, and the bar downstairs was noisy until 11pm. The bus stop outside got very noisy from 5am. Not great, but cheap and cheerful. I’d go back.

I like the old-fashioned charm, and the man at check-in was very pleasant. It’s good value, but a little noisy, with no double-glazed windows and a city-center location. I was there on a Saturday, so there was naturally more going on around town.
