Also known as Praia de Portonovo, this fine-sand urban beach is good for a walk or just relaxing. Small dunes separate it from the road, with a walkway running along the whole beach and access points down to the sand. The water stays calm and clear, without waves, thanks to the protection of the marina. There are showers, bathrooms, drinking water, and lifeguard posts in summer.

The boardwalk along Baltar is a lovely place to catch the Atlantic and town skyline at sunset, with the dune system adding a natural touch beside the bars and terraces. Even in the height of summer, families, friends, athletes, and people out for a stroll share the broad, bright beach, and it still feels welcoming. The fine white sand and breakwaters make for calm water where you can swim, splash about, or relax. Baltar has Blue Flag status and offers showers, restrooms, lifeguards, beach bars, scooter rentals, accessible access, and rest areas. It has the convenience of an urban beach, while being well maintained. At sunset the sand and water turn gold and orange, and you'll want to take a photo. A lovely mix of sea, nature, and comfort in the Rías Baixas, with a coastal feel that makes you want to come back.

There’s a long wooden walkway over the dunes, plus beach bars and play areas, and the natural setting between the marina and Sanxenxo park makes it a nice spot for a walk, exercise, or sunbathing with the family. Baltar Beach in Portonovo is a broad bay with fine golden sand and calm water. You’ll find lifeguards, showers, loungers and umbrellas for rent, nearby parking, and adapted access.
