Modern B&B Somosaguas

The main problem was a dangerous piece of glass in the bedroom. It sat on the shelf beneath the window, about 83 cm high, and measured 27 x 120 cm. It wasn't attached with silicone, just resting there with anti-slide pads, so it could move with almost no effort. My 21-month-old son moved it, and it fell and broke between the bed and window. It was ordinary glass that broke into large, sharp, knife-like pieces, not tempered glass that would break into small cubes. We don't wear shoes inside. It's a miracle he didn't badly cut himself or chop his foot in half. I cleaned it up and the owner chastised me for putting on shoes to do so, even though I hadn't cut myself. There was another matching piece of glass in the bedroom, and it looked like the same ordinary glass. I hadn't planned to make this public, hoping the owner would correct this dangerous oversight in good faith, but I don't think that's likely now. Instead of an apology, I received a bill for tempered glass, the kind that should have been installed. Regular glass in those dimensions costs 22€, but I was charged 85€. I was billed yesterday, and today the owner complained to Booking.com that payment hadn't arrived yet. The apartment itself was nice, the bed was good, the location was good, and breakfast was adequate. But for families with children, there are potentially deadly hazards.

I was hoping for a more genuine Madrid experience, and this B&B was a good choice. The owner is lovely and welcoming. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Gill is adorable, and the whole place was really clean. A very nice experience.
