Camping Prades

The location was a highlight. Prades is a lovely little town about a 10-minute walk away, with bars, restaurants, a bakery, tabac, groceries, quaint streets, and a nice square with a church. The hiking around here was amazing too, with brilliant trails of all lengths. We had our dog with us and love to hike. The receptionist gave us a few printed walks when we arrived, though we mostly used our own. It was a nice, quiet site at night, with only cuckoos to hear. We were there in April just after Easter. Saturday was noisier because of a football match on TV, with some shouting from campers in a car behind us and from people at the BBQ. It was still going when we went to bed at 11 and woke me around midnight, but luckily earplugs helped. We arrived without booking, which was no problem. The receptionist was helpful, let us choose a pitch, and gave us good information about local walks. Our VW camper van fit perfectly. The pitches have trees and bushes between them, with some grass but also quite a lot of sand and mud. There are cute little animal statues around the site that made us laugh with our dog. Bungalows and long-term camping are also available near the front and side of the campsite. The site has a swimming pool, spa, restaurant, and supermarket. We only used the supermarket, and the bread there was great, the best we'd tried in 10 weeks of travelling. The facilities are in the middle of the site, with separate men's and women's areas. They were probably the best we've experienced in Spain across 14 campsites in 10 weeks: modern and very clean, with toilet paper and soap. The showers had hot water, good pressure, a lovely rain shower head, plenty of space, hooks, and a seat. We absolutely loved them. The dishwashing area was bright, white, and modern, with hot water. Laundry was fantastic too, €6 for a large wash including washing powder and conditioner, with state-of-the-art machines that were brilliant for camping. This campsite deserves 5/5 and is well worth visiting. We really hated to leave and would definitely recommend it.
