The breakfast was great, and the staff gave very good service. For the price, it's a very nice hotel, in a fine spot close to the main area.

The views of Sierra Nevada were marvelous, and our room was clean and warm enough. Breakfast was warm and good quality for a three-star hotel. Reception staff were kind and quick to sort things out. My best wishes to them. Samuel, who works in the restaurant, struck me as a great guy with interesting ideas about changes that could improve the hotel. The housekeeper was good too. It takes teamwork. The hotel is around 60 years old and could use some care in its details and arrangements. That's not down to the staff, who try to help everyone. I'd ask the manager or stakeholders to take responsibility and consider staff training and better planning for people's needs. I mean that as help, not criticism.

The location is good and the receptionist was friendly, which makes it a shame the room was so uncomfortable. The bed had a metal frame and springs that creaked whenever I moved. Paint was flaking off the walls, and the bedroom light never went fully off, leaving the room bright all night. I wouldn't return.

The breakfast room was dark and dingy, so I could barely see what I was eating. The food selection was actually okay, and it was the only thing the hotel had going for it. The location wasn't good either: a steep trek uphill, far from the ski lifts. Next time I'd spend a little more for a decent hotel near the bottom. This place isn't worth it. We asked to change rooms, but were told none were available. I checked the booking site and saw there was still availability that night, so that was a lie. On our first day, we reported sewage leaking from the sink onto the bathroom floor. I have a two-year-old baby, and the water turned a towel brown and stank. It wasn't fixed until the second day. The man at reception barely took notice of my complaint, and our request for fresh towels also wasn't dealt with until day two. The inside of the sink cabinet was rotten, so the leak was clearly chronic. The decor was dated and damaged, with holes in the wardrobe doors. The TV didn't work, and nothing was done after I reported it. Beside the third bed, which in a family room is for a child, there was a broken wall plug at bed height with no safety cover. Another hazard. Heating only came on at certain times, so it was off if you came back in the middle of the day. You can hear everything throughout the hotel: people on the old, creaking stairs and noises from neighboring bedrooms, including snoring. The rooms were in bad shape, too.

The bedroom was clean, tidy and warm, but noise came through the poor soundproofing. The hotel needs updating. Breakfast was okay, but unless you reached the dining room early, the buffet dinner would be cold. The bar ran out of white wine early on the first evening. Its seating area with a view needs double glazing, since it gets too cold to sit there after sunset.
