Hostal Los Claveles Restaurant

There were 15 of us eating at Los Claveles in Priego over Easter, and the whole group had a great experience. The staff welcomed us warmly and kept things organized and attentive throughout, which really helped with a group that size. We shared a good range of dishes, including zarajos (lamb offal stew), patatas revolconas (mashed potatoes with paprika and bacon), croquettes, migas (fried breadcrumbs), lamb, and entrecote. Everything was delicious, cooked just right, and had that comforting homemade flavor. You could tell care had gone into the cooking and the ingredients were good. The food, atmosphere, and service made it a memorable meal for everyone. Los Claveles is absolutely somewhere I’d recommend and come back to. A perfect experience.

We only stayed a night, but everything went well. The room was clean, and checking in at 6:30 pm was no problem. We had coffee and toast for breakfast there, though we thought it was a little expensive. The service more than made up for it, so friendly and welcoming. The woman who looked after us was very caring the whole time. And I’d give the decor a 10/10!

We came through the mountains and ended up in Priego, known for its gorge. This place deserves to be known too. It’s very well run, and they clearly want to get things right. We had the set menu, with homemade food that was tasty, comforting, and really well prepared. A great find, and we’ll definitely be back.

I went on a family recommendation, and it turned out even better than I expected. The food is prepared with natural, organic ingredients, with so much flavor and care. Without a doubt, one of the best places I’ve eaten. I hope it stays just like this!
