We felt very comfortable here. The stone houses are beautifully finished inside, and there’s a barbecue out back. The building itself is stunning, with views of the castle.

The owner made us feel welcome and everything was very clean. We liked our first stay so much on the way to Galicia that we booked another night here on the return trip.

The kitchen-dining space was cramped for six, and we had to wash the plates and glasses left in the dish rack. There were no closet hangers, clothespins, kitchen paper rolls, or even napkins for the first night. Villa 1's patio has no barbecue, so you need to use the shared one behind the house. Cleanliness was a serious problem. Cobwebs covered the windows and doors, and the blankets and bedspreads were dusty. My friend sneezed through the first night, then had to shake out her blanket before she could sleep the next one. The extractor fan was dripping grease.

The place needs a thorough cleaning. There were spiders and cobwebs around. The woman was somewhat friendly, but didn't make checkout easy, even though we had no booking for the following day. One patio is private and the other is shared, so grilling means sharing it with guests from the other house. There were six of us, but we were left just one roll for each bathroom. By the next day we had run out, and when we called, she said, "Oh, I'm not allowed any more, you guys have to buy it." The rolls hadn't even been full. We won't be back.

The building and furnishings look attractive, but the place wasn't especially tidy, and toilet paper is limited. There is a supermarket nearby if you need to buy more. If you get the ground-floor apartment closest to the road, it comes with fewer amenities: no barbecue or patio. There is a white parasol, though a couple of its rods are broken, and it does block some of the summer sun. This doesn't feel much like a rural house, since it's only a few meters from a Parador Nacional and close to Carrefour and Día. That's handy when you're in town, but not ideal if you're after nature, lighter traffic, and less crowded surroundings.
