There’s breakfast, though no restaurant in the hotel. Reception is only staffed from 8:30 to 3:30, and when I arrived no one was there, so another guest let me in. Getting a contact number was difficult, which made me uneasy about what to do in an emergency. When the receptionist was there, though, she was really helpful.

We picked it as a handy overnight stop just off the A-52, and it worked out perfectly. My wife and I got a warm welcome and a very good price. The place feels like an old coaching inn, full of history beside the old bridge over the Rio Castro. It was clean, warm and comfortable, even on a chilly night. The nearby town and hilltop castle looked amazing, though we didn’t have time to explore. Maybe next time.

Breakfast was very nice, and the room had working heating and a really comfortable bed. The price was good too. Just be aware, especially if you’re a pilgrim, that they only serve breakfast here, with no lunch or dinner, and there’s nothing nearby. I hadn’t planned for that, but the manager kindly drove me to a Carrefour for food since I was staying two days and didn’t want to move. I’d recommend it.

The price was fair, but the hotel sits outside town, about a 20-minute walk from the centre or castle. The building seems a little old and could use some improvements.
