Hostal El Pasaje

A week before our family holiday, we were told our booking for five double rooms couldn't be honored. They offered two double rooms plus two triple rooms at the same price, then tried to compensate us with just €19 for one fewer room, even though the original rate was €65 a night. The service was appalling, and I wouldn't recommend this place. I hope this helps other people and that the hotel takes note. I gave it one star only because the site required a rating to publish my review.

It's clean and charming, but the services are lacking. The wardrobe has no doors, the bathroom jacuzzi doesn't work, and night noise isn't managed. There's no reception overnight. Barely adequate.

The room was clean, the shower water was very hot, and after cycling 126 km I just wanted to wash up and sleep. But I found a large insect in the toilet brush holder, what we call a "penis cutter." Then, while I tried to nap in room 104, I could hear a woman talking as though she were right beside me. From her voice, I thought she might be part of an older couple. They soon left, but at reception the Latina woman was speaking so loudly that sleeping was impossible, and I could hear a child there too. I left and gave up the €42 I'd paid for the room.

We had a perfect stay, and we'd definitely come back. The place was clean, comfortable, and quiet, with a great location. The staff were really friendly too.
