Apartamentos Be Smart Florida Plaza

The staff were very helpful and accommodating, and the location is perfect, though the pub opposite can get very noisy with the locals. The location is great, but the apartment wasn't even basic enough for self-catering. There was just one piece of each cutlery item for two people, plus one pot and a small frying pan. No washing-up liquid, dish scrubber, salt, or pepper, and there was no kettle, toaster, or microwave. The freezer was iced over and the small compartment had no door. We paid €20 for a kettle and got the money back at the end. The pool is open only from 10am to 6pm, locked and inaccessible the rest of the time. We booked at the last minute for a cheap price and found it underwhelming. The rooms need some work. We also paid extra for a small balcony, but I was scared to lean on it in case it collapsed. Great location aside, this stay disappointed.

The staff were really good and the location is great. The hotel didn't look like the pictures, though. The rooms were old and very basic, had a strange smell, and weren't perfectly clean. We were really upset the first night, but stayed for a week and found it alright as long as we only used the room to sleep and maybe make a quick breakfast.

We chose to eat out every day and try the local food, though the hotel does serve breakfast and dinner. The hotel could use some modern updates, but we still found it comfortable and pleasant for our four nights at Florida Plaza Hotel in Puerto de la Cruz. Our spacious room was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic, right in the historic town and within easy walking distance of three beaches, shops, clubs, pubs, restaurants, and cafes. There's a small, cozy rooftop pool with a lovely view over town. There was no air conditioning, which felt unusual in a hot place like Tenerife, but you can ask for a fan by leaving a deposit. If you arrange an airport transfer, coaches can't reach the hotel because it's on a pedestrian street. You need to walk about two minutes, which is useful to know if arriving at night. It's not a luxury five-star hotel, but for what you pay, it's good value. A few updates would make it better.

A few things could be improved, especially the mattresses. We used the sofa bed instead and managed fine. The kitchen doesn't have much equipment, though I doubt anyone's planning to cook a roast dinner on holiday. These are nice budget apartments in an excellent location, and the staff are welcoming and happy to help with anything. I'd definitely stay again. Thanks to all the staff for a great holiday!
