Casa del Sol Hotel

We stayed for two nights, which was enough for our needs, and overall it was decent value for the money. Everything else was fine. The main drawback was parking: guests don't have a reserved space, and with the location, finding nearby parking is almost impossible, like looking for a needle in a haystack. We were also disappointed to discover the double bed was actually two single beds pushed together. We hadn't been told this when booking, and it would have been better to know in advance. Given what we paid, though, we can’t complain too much.

Read the reviews before booking, from reports of bug bites to guests being unable to get into their suites. We booked rooftop room 5C, which was confirmed by email, but were given 5E instead. That seemed minor at first. Then we found the TV didn't work, the balcony doors wouldn't close, and the entrance lock was broken. Three days later, we couldn't get into the room at all and spent an hour waiting in the cold. The receptionist was new and completely clueless. We only got in because our friends from Tenerife managed to climb in through the balcony. Since it was peak season, the receptionist couldn't offer us a room at this hotel or any partner hotel, and said a maintenance technician would come the next morning. He never showed up. We had to spend the rest of our stay sleeping in a room we couldn't lock.

The pool area was lovely, and our room was clean. The hotel is clearly dated, but we felt it was excellent value and would definitely come back. The staff were really friendly, especially Manuel the gorgeous Italian receptionist, who couldn't do enough for us ❤️

We were given a larger room with a great view, which was a plus. But the toilet hadn't been cleaned properly, and we found dirty towels, old toilet paper, used bed linen, and no ashtray.
