FERGUS Puerto de la Cruz

The room was basic but well kept and quite clean, and the cleaning service was excellent. From our balcony we had a lovely view, including Mount El-Teide. The hotel is in the middle of Puerto De la Cruz, with restaurants, supermarkets and bus stops just a short walk away. The town centre, the sea and local attractions like Loro Parque and Jardín Biotinica are also easy to reach. It is up a hill, though, so there is plenty of walking uphill and downhill, which could be hard for people with walking difficulties. Most others should manage. We had half board. Breakfast was decent, though some choices were limited. Dinner fell short of what I’d expect at a 4 star hotel, even though the dining room staff were friendly. Breakfast was supposed to start at 6:30am, but when I left at 06:45am the restaurant was still shut, so we missed it. The reception staff gave me mixed impressions and weren’t all welcoming. At checkout, the woman at reception barely spoke and didn’t ask how our stay had been. There were no smiles. The hotel should take the feedback seriously, because there’s clearly room to improve.

The pool and gardens are lovely places to catch the sun. They were clean and not too busy, with a good bar and fun staff. There’s entertainment if you’re in the mood, plus bars and lounges for relaxing. The hotel is spotless and the customer service is great, just ask and they’ll help. The position is perfect and the views are outstanding, which made for a great holiday. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, could do with some updating, but the shower pressure was probably the best I’ve ever had and the beds are super comfy. The restaurant had plenty of variety, food that was pretty reasonable, and it wasn’t too busy. I’d come again!

There are two pools, one quiet for a more relaxed swim and a beautiful main pool with daily entertainment. Join in if you fancy it, that’s part of the fun of a holiday. The hotel was very clean, with rooms that have sea view options and reasonably priced upgrades. The staff were really friendly, which was refreshing. I also couldn’t fault the food, with a different theme each evening alongside the usual choices, and really good desserts.

We needed a break, and this hotel really delivered. The entertainment team were so friendly, and the whole family enjoyed the activities. My son was thrilled to carve a pumpkin, and we loved the escape room and ghost tunnel. The Halloween shows were amazing, special thanks to Ester Fabio and Luna for putting them on. The catering staff always greeted us with a smile, and reception were happy to help. Everyone was so kind, some of the nicest staff we’ve ever stayed with. We’re very grateful for all the effort, and would recommend the hotel to anyone xxx
