Molino Blanco

The apartment is a good size, and the bathroom is one of its better features. The location near the center of La Paz and the nearby shops are also convenient. Beyond that, we had a very poor stay at Eden Rentals Molino Blanco Penthouse. The furnishings were cheap and uninspired, and the beds weren’t great. The kitchenware was mismatched, there were no egg cups, and some coffee cups were chipped and yellowed. We paid €2,300 for three weeks through Booking.com, which felt wildly overpriced. I think it was worth no more than half that. We’ve visited Tenerife many times and never had such a bad experience. I also suspect unfair marketing on the Booking.com portal. The photo shown there didn’t match the actual accommodation, which, as our photo shows, stayed in the shade all day. That was a key factor in our booking, since awnings were supposed to provide sunshine. The pool photo showed different apartments. The apartments don’t have awnings because, apparently, the sun doesn’t reach them until about 5 pm. Getting to the apartment in rain is best done in rubber boots. Access to the pool was disastrous too: you have to go through the main entrance of Molino Blanco, past parked cars and through the building, then reach the pool by a public path. The lawn was watered so heavily overnight that the ground stayed muddy all day. Spanish TV played quite loudly from an apartment just four meters away, on top of constant traffic noise from the main road about 15 meters away. The pool area itself is very good, but this isn’t the place if you want peace and quiet. There’s a restaurant/pizzeria below, but thankfully it seemed to be bankrupt, so there was no noise or smell from it. I simply can’t understand the positive reviews. Puerto de la Cruz is beautiful and always worth visiting, but I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation.

Highly recommended. It’s quiet and well located for heading out on excursions.
