Hotel Pocillos Playa

At the seafront, the hotel is a short walk left to lots of restaurants and shops, or about a half an hour walk right to the main strip with even more. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. The rooms are a good size, the pool is lovely, there are walk-in showers, and pool towels are available for hire. The all inclusive food and drinks were good. A few things could be improved. Most staff made much better cocktails than the machine, which made them syrupy and too sweet. A drinks menu would help show what’s available, including slushies and cocktails. Iced coffee should be served in cups, not little bowls. Bar snacks and desserts need labels too, especially so it’s possible to tell what’s vegetarian. It was hard to identify the pizza, rings, pastries, or sandwiches by looking, and we missed snacks like toasties because we couldn’t tell whether they were cheese or ham and cheese, onion rings or calamari rings, or vegetable pizza or vegetable and shrimp pizza. Desserts were labelled less clearly than the main meals, so we couldn’t tell if the trifle or cake was vegetarian or might contain gelatin.

We chose a quiet holiday and got one. The location is very good, and you can head into Carmen if you want. The rooms and grounds are nice and well kept, and the hotel is friendly, with most staff and fellow holidaymakers relaxed and pleasant. We went with premium and had access to an extra sunbathing area and a very nice, more secluded room. Food was pretty good, about what you’d expect from a buffet. The drinks setup didn’t feel 4 star. There’s one small bar, and you have to show proof you’ve returned your glasses before getting another drink. It could have self-serve lager like many similar hotels. Most frustratingly, one staff member refused to serve us something we wanted, even though it was available on premium. We enjoyed the break and there was plenty to like, but I’m not sure I’d return.

A good spot for a quiet Lanzarote break, with a short walk to a wide choice of restaurants and bars. The hotel is adults only, relaxing, and close to what we needed. We stayed B&B for 10 days and didn’t use the inclusive food and drink option. Breakfast was a standard hotel selection. Rooms were clean and spacious, with a safe, fridge, and kettle. The pool is small but adequate, and there’s also a spa pool and a spa on site. A Spar selling everything is 4 mins walk away. Daily entertainment is run by Aida, who is very enthusiastic without being too overbearing. You can join darts, pool, yoga, and lots of evening entertainment. Taxi transfer took 10 mins. Don’t bother with the transfer coach, which took 30 mins!

Entertainment is run by Aida, who’s brilliant, full of energy and fun. She tries hard to get people involved in pool games, morning stretches, and evening entertainment, while respecting it if you’d rather not join in. Emily, one of the servers, was very helpful and hard-working. The complex was spotless and well kept, with rooms cleaned daily. The buffet food was as you’d expect, with a good selection and food allergy labels on display. A very nice stay, and we’ve already booked for next year.
