We stayed at Seaside Los Jameos for six nights last week, and came away with mixed feelings. The location is central for exploring the island, with doors opening right onto the beach promenade, which made morning walks and quick outings easy. The beach town itself is very touristy, though, and doesn’t feel local. Our renovated room was comfortable, breakfast had plenty of choice and worked well for families, and the kids’ pool was warm with fun slides. Our 8-year-old loved going to the kids club every day, and the animation team was amazing. I’d recommend it to friends with children 8 and under, or to my parents in their 60s, who’d enjoy the contained resort atmosphere. Service was the biggest letdown. In six nights, nobody asked how our stay was or whether we needed anything. Staff seemed on edge, so I’m not sure how happy they are there. There’s no pool service, and the arcade token machine never worked during a few bad weather days. One person at the pool towel station was noticeably rude. We had to collect our own pool chair cushions, which I’ve never had to do at a 4 star hotel. The paved rocks around the pool were awful to walk on without sandals. The hotel also seemed understaffed. Coffee machines weren’t working at breakfast, so there were long lines, and dirty plates and cups often sat around in the restaurant and by the pool. I wondered how it would be in high season. Some areas feel outdated. Evening entertainment was geared toward an older crowd, with a cruise ship feel that didn’t suit us. We’re an active family in our 30s who like going out for meals and exploring, and the resort felt self-contained and aimed at a different audience. That might be fine for some. The dinner buffet was a major disappointment. We only booked it because it was storming and we didn’t want to go out in the rain. It cost around 150 euros for two adults and one child, and the food wasn’t remotely worth that price. So bad. Lunch choices were also limited. There isn’t really a casual snack setup with fries or quick poolside bites. The small sandwiches they serve are actually good, but a simple snack cart or counter at lunchtime or happy hour would be nice. We’re a New York family living in Amsterdam, so we have high expectations for food and hospitality. For a 4 star hotel that seems to be positioning itself toward 5 stars, the service and dining fell short. We’ve stayed at more than 10 hotels across Spain, and this would rank near the bottom of the places we’d recommend. Our child loved the pool and kids club, but we adults found little for us. It could suit families with younger kids or older couples looking for a relaxed all-in resort. For active 30-somethings wanting better service, atmosphere and dining, we wouldn’t book again. Not worth the 300e+ per night price tag.

The kids club team were absolutely incredible, and seemed to really enjoy their work. The kids loved their time there, especially thanks to Imara and Lucia. All the staff we met were lovely and helpful. We’d love to come back after a great week, with lovely food ranging from healthy choices and local dishes to kids’ favourites. Our 4-year-old was crazy about the ice cream, and I especially liked the fish station, lemon mousse and apple pudding.

The food and drinks were fabulous, with the biggest variety we’ve seen at an all-inclusive resort. We were impressed by the delicious food, and the drinks and cocktails were amazing too, all made from scratch with branded ingredients. We’d definitely return for those and the heated pools, including the pretty main pool and the kids’ pool with slides. The pool area for children was very quiet, though, with no music or activities. We’d have liked more daily entertainment and games there, maybe a club dance too. The evening mini-disco was lovely, and we enjoyed the magician shows, but not most of the other shows, which often featured singers. We visited at the end of April with our children, aged 6 and 8. We had a nice family room with a sea view, but it felt small for four people. Two single beds for the children would have been better than a sofa bed.

Our daughter was always well looked after at the kids club, and the mini-disco was a fantastic end to each day for her and for us. She loved the new children’s area, with its pool, slides, playground, water playground and baby pool. The animation and miniclub teams do an outstanding job. We especially want to thank Noemi, Marcel, Alan, and above all SILVIA AND ALEXANDRA. Everyone across the complex was warm, friendly and helpful, and you can tell they enjoy their work. The whole place is beautifully designed, clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The food is above average in both range and quality. We had a wonderful vacation at Seaside Los Jameos. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING, we’ll miss you a lot.

We’re here now, and this is our first stay. It definitely won’t be our last. The facilities and grounds are great, and there are plenty of local restaurants and bars nearby. We upgraded from a standard room to a superior room directly with the hotel before arrival, and it was well worth it. Can’t fault anything.
