La Cueva del Bounty

My Indian family of nine and I finally arrived at the hotel, but the service was extremely arrogant and we were given dirty looks. In 20 years of visiting hotels, I’d never felt prejudice directed at me before. We were told the room had been cleaned, but when my husband and I saw the mess, we called reception straight away. There were socks and dirty clothes all over the place. It was appalling, and an absolute catastrophe to deal with alongside six children under 13. I just wouldn’t visit.

Room 106 seems to be the worst for noise, so avoid it. I’m writing this at 3:20 a.m. because of the bar noise from the back of the hotel. My room had no air conditioning, and opening the window wasn’t an option with that noise. The hotel is central and basic, the room was small but clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly.

The receptionist was friendly, and the hotel might do for one night if there’s no other option. But the room wasn’t very clean and the bathroom towel was dirty. Bars downstairs made it very noisy at night, and we could hear people in the next room, so unfortunately we couldn’t sleep. The place needs renovating and could be better in the future.

The electric box buzzed so loudly I had to switch it off to sleep. I could also hear music from a room at the other end of the corridor because my room had no proper sound insulation. The mattress and other furnishings felt like they belonged in a very cheap hostel, though the room cost €50. There was no breakfast.
