The bar was a good part of the stay, with great prices and friendly, smiling service. The staff were brilliant throughout, and the hotel is exceptionally clean, with a very traditional feel. Its location works well for a stop while travelling north or south through Spain. The room and facilities were spotless, and the staff were genuinely friendly. We ate at the restaurant, but the fish wasn't cooked through. I sent it back, and it still wasn't cooked properly when it came out again. I ordered the fillet steak medium, but it arrived very rare. Prices were good, though, so check your food before digging in.

The surroundings were peaceful and the views were stunning, which made for a lovely retreat. Our room was beautifully furnished and meticulously clean, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and ready to take care of our requests. We had an amazing time and plan to return.

NOTE: We only ate at the restaurant, we didn't stay at the hotel. This was one of the worst places we've eaten at. The staff were rude and made us feel unwelcome as soon as we walked in. The "Russian Salad" was awful, and the toasties were inedible. The ham seemed to be the worst quality and smelled as if it might have expired. I couldn't finish mine. When my wife asked for salt, they practically threw it at her. A very unpleasant experience, highly NOT recommended!

Our menu del día was very good and reasonably priced. The restaurant didn't start serving evening meals until 9pm, but that's Spain. The hotel has nice, good-sized rooms. Ours was due for refurbishment, though everything worked and it was warm and cosy.

The cafe makes excellent coffee, and the hotel rooms are spacious and clean. A lovely little hidden gem for anyone travelling between northern and southern Spain.
