The host made a pricing mistake, which we could understand, but then contacted us close to midnight asking us either to cancel or pay the difference. They offered a €20 discount, which we didn't accept, and Booking got involved to try to find an agreement. Before they could resolve anything, the host cancelled our booking under “force majeure,” leaving Booking unable to help. We spent the whole day going back and forth with the host and Booking, including several calls, one of them over 45 minutes. We'd already booked a car and taken a day off work, too. I can't accept cancelling without our agreement and using the “force majeure” option that way. I've worked in this field, and that was poor service. Guests have to follow the booking terms if they cancel, including losing their money when it's nonrefundable, so the same rules should apply to the host. This felt very unprofessional and irresponsible.

Being right in a little medieval village made the location especially lovely, and Laura gave us plenty of useful ideas for things to do and places to eat. Her suggestions were spot on, including places we wouldn't have discovered ourselves, and she was a warm host. We also had a great holiday here: rented bikes, used the indoor wellness area, made a fire, fed the chickens, and had their eggs for breakfast. Such a charming family-run place.

The setting was beautiful and the stay was comfortable. We had an excellent time.

The host was lovely, and the place was both comfortable and beautiful. Really amazing. I'd love to come back.
