Everything had been great on my earlier visits, which I really enjoyed. So I booked for Christmas 2024/25 and the Bajada de la Virgen (Descent of the Virgin) in 2025. He said both bookings were fine and even showed me all the cottages so I could choose one. Then I called in September and he turned down both reservations without explaining why.

The host was so thoughtful and attentive, and I’m very grateful for that. We had our first family vacation here and were so happy with our choice. We stayed in the red house, though I’m sure the others are just as good. It’s beautiful, comfortable, and has everything you need. For anyone visiting from off the island, skip the map’s “shortcuts.” The main road is easy to use and signposted. If you’re after quiet and nature, this is the place. I recommend it 100%.

Carlos and Carlota looked after us really well and even brought us a box of delicious bananas. The country house was lovely, though a little dirty. Our friends there were a stray cat and a chicken that escapes its coop and follows you around like a toilet. The location is great too, about an hour from anywhere on the island.
