The view is the one good thing here: lovely nature and rolling hills that look like a postcard. Everything else was a lesson in how not to run a hotel, and after paying €200, I regretted the stay. We were put in a room meant for guests with disabilities, though we didn't need one. The shower could only be used sitting down, and the toilet was very high, like a throne. Drilling at 6:45am each morning made it feel like a prison renovation. The air conditioning didn't work, the room was sweltering, flies were everywhere, and the furniture seemed to have given up years ago. When we asked to move, the receptionist refused, and seemed to enjoy saying no. Later, we heard her tell another guest who did need an accessible room that none were available. Our room was unwanted by us and kept someone else from getting what they needed. If you want efficient, compassionate service, this isn't the place. There were plenty of other frustrations. The toilets were closed for cleaning just as the buffet opened. Guests with dogs could sit in the nice dining room, but we couldn't, so we had no view. Staff looked like they were being held hostage by customer service. The bar opened only when it felt like it. It cost €100 a night for this privilege. The government partly funds the renovations, but it's unclear where that money is going. It certainly isn't going to hospitality training or basic ventilation. Fawlty Towers would be an upgrade, at least there you'd get a laugh.

The natural surroundings were incredible, and the location was spot on. Having the ski station right next to the hotel was useful, and the staff were great to interact with.
The scenery and location are fantastic, but the hotel was an awful experience. Everything felt run down. Whenever I showered, water flooded my room, apparently from the pipes rather than the shower itself. Because it's so remote, the dinner buffet was the only place to eat, and the food was like expensive dog food. Workmen started drilling and hammering outside my first-floor room at about 6:30am. I told reception on the first night, and they said they'd try to sort it out, but nothing changed. It happened again the next morning. At checkout, I brought it up once more, and the lady matter-of-factly said they were fixing the windows and had to finish by September. I wouldn't stay here again. Find somewhere in the mountains with better facilities and service.
The rack railway ride is a peaceful way to arrive, with breathtaking views all along the way. Once there, it's a stunning destination for a family break or for people who love skiing. The hotel is cozy and well equipped, making it convenient and comfortable for families with children. The slopes cater to all levels, from beginners to more experienced skiers. Staff are extremely friendly and attentive, ready to help make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time. The family-friendly feel and well-maintained facilities add to the appeal. A great mix of nature, sport, and relaxation.
This hotel feels like a scam. It normally requires a two-night stay, but we were hiking the GR11 and asked to stay for one night. They agreed, with an extra charge: we paid 176 for two people including breakfast, while the standard price is 135 EUR per night when booking two nights. The surprise came when we found we were put in the wing under reconstruction. Outside the curtains was scaffolding covered in construction debris. The room looked completely outdated, as if Franco had stayed there yesterday. There was no air conditioning, and with plastic covering the scaffold, opening the windows brought no breeze or fresh air. The room became very hot, I could hardly breathe, and we had a sleepless night. They apparently offer a discount for that wing, but we weren't offered one. The next morning we spent 40 minutes arguing with the receptionist, who did nothing. She then blamed us for not paying the one-night surcharge and even lied to our faces that there was no discount for the construction wing, despite my showing her an email from her colleague saying there was one. The manager hid from us. She called him, but he was busy and didn't come out, though it was Saturday morning. We eventually had to leave because we had a long day of hiking ahead. Breakfast starts at 8am, which is late for a hotel serving hikers. Please avoid this place. Take the train and go back. The hotel just monopolizes its location, and I can't recommend it. The problem may be that it's owned by Aramark, a company that doesn't care about proper hospitality.
