Casa Rural Patiño

We found it easy to get to all the towns and places we wanted to see, and the little village itself was quiet enough for a proper rest after sightseeing. We even came back for a siesta after eating in other towns. It was spotless, and the owner was such a lovely woman, attentive when serving breakfast. Breakfast is worth having, especially since there’s nowhere else in the village to eat early in the day. We had a really positive stay and will definitely come back.

I first stayed here in 2009, not long after the house opened, and the rooms are still in just as good shape. Guadalupe and her sisters looked after me wonderfully. From the house, it’s easy to get to places like the Río Lobos canyon, Gormaz fortress, La Fuentona, San Baudelio, Burgos de Osma, Berlanga de Duero, and more. I’d happily stay here again.

Just keep in mind that pets aren’t allowed if you’re bringing your dog. The house is handy for visiting nearby villages, including El Burgo and Berlanga, as well as Gormaz Castle. The service was genuinely attentive, and breakfast was delicious. A very pleasant country house and a good place to stay. During the August bank holiday weekend, there are festivities and music in the town square until noon.

The breakfasts were healthy, filling, and plentiful, and the owners made us feel at home, almost like family. The place itself is clean, quiet, welcoming, and excellent. I’d highly recommend it. My only reason for giving four stars is the very poor mobile and internet signal in the area. It seems the authorities don’t give much attention to the needs of this part of Spain.
