Fuente Aceña Hotel Boutique

We had a lovely room with a fireplace, perfect for enjoying local wine or vermouth, and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was fabulous, and the restaurant was amazing. It’s also very family friendly. Can’t recommend this beautiful hotel enough.

The breakfast alone is worth it, really delicious. We totally enjoyed our stay: simple and elegant, and surprisingly underrated. A must if you’re in the area.

Very disappointing. The photos are misleading, and the place smells bad and feels overpriced. It probably looked beautiful years ago, but it’s had its day and needs refurbishing.

The location and architecture are stunning, and the staff were kind. Still, I had a very mixed stay. What matters most in a hotel, like getting a good night’s sleep, just didn’t work here. The rooms have almost no sound insulation. The walls are ultra-thin, and there’s only one door between the bed and the echoey atrium hallways. My dog and I were woken at 2 a.m. by drunk guests coming back, then again at 5 a.m. by someone showering next door. I can’t recall that happening even in a cheap hotel. The industrial boutique look works in photos, but the rooms felt bare and short on basic comforts. The bed frame seemed like a cheap metal foldout, and the mattress sagged at the sides, leaving me with a sore back from sleeping unevenly. The shower was clunky and precarious, not something I’d want in my guest bathroom, let alone a hotel. There was also a lot of mold inside the toilet when I flushed, which made me doubt the overall care. The same disappointment carried over to dinner. The ingredients were high quality, but the flavors were lackluster and there were basic preparation mistakes. I could have let the overcooked lamb and flavorless burger go, but the shrimp hadn’t been deveined. When I asked, they told me that was how they always served it and how it was supposed to be served, which was bizarre. The concept doesn’t excuse the lack of comfort, cleanliness, and professionalism.
