The morning view across the valley to the sea was lovely, and even rainy weather didn't stop us enjoying the hotel. The grounds are spacious enough to wander around, the staff are very friendly, and the rooms have plenty of space. Breakfast may not suit people who want meaty scrambled eggs, though there was a good salad alongside them. We came for a quiet weekend focused on each other, or a solo break from the world. Next time I'd like to try the pool. One thing I struggled with was the completely transparent bathroom. From the toilet you can see into the bedroom, and the other way around too.

We spent five days here, including dinner at the hotel with seven friends, and the daily breakfast was truly amazing. The place itself is beautiful, with rooms facing the water and stars visible at night. Staff were a 5/5, helpful throughout, and even brought our bags down to the rooms at check-in. There are also two EV chargers on site. The internet is very unreliable around the hotel, so expect to be a bit disconnected if you don't have mobile data.

We used Hotel Pepe Vieira as a base for nearby places like Sanxenxo, Pontevedra, Vigo, Santiago, Combarro, and Cambados, all a short drive away. But the setting itself is a big part of the stay: the grounds are beautifully wild, with native plants rather than manicured gardens. That natural approach is also what earned the restaurant a green Michelin star. Our room was Galpón #3, one of just 14 separate cubes set along a gentle slope away from the main building. It felt like its own little retreat. The Japanese-inspired dark wood and soft gray colors, silky bedding, and small indoor garden dividing the room from the bathroom were lovely. Floor-to-ceiling glass opens the view to the forest, while motorized blackout screens give privacy and make it easy to rest. There's no TV, which suited the hotel's quiet, unplugged feel. We especially liked having coffee on the private terrace overlooking the Ría de Pontevedra and woods. The room was spotless and had plush towels, a coffee machine, minibar, and slippers. The front desk is the only staffed area, deliberately separate from the rooms, so staff aren't wandering the grounds or carrying luggage unless you ask. The team we met were warm and accommodating, attentive without hovering. The lobby and restaurant carry through the same architectural style, with cozy sofas, design books on the side tables, and wide views. Breakfast was a treat, with baked goods, homemade jams, fresh juices, and excellent coffee. We skip carbs, and they gladly adjusted things for us with eggs cooked as requested and local cheeses. On dry mornings, breakfast is served outside by the pool. We also had dinner at the restaurant, which deserves its own review. We stayed July 9-12 for a couple's getaway, and the experience felt personal and luxurious, with a strong sense of design, nature, and sustainability. It's part of the Relais & Châteaux collection, but doesn't feel like a cookie-cutter luxury hotel. The pace is relaxed and unpretentious, and even the toiletries and slippers make you feel you're somewhere special. This is a place that stays with you.

The ocean-view setting in the countryside makes for a distinctive visit, with contemporary luxury, cool, clean interiors, and fantastic service. The seafood gastronomy was fabulous, a once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience. The staff are so friendly and the service impeccable. For taste, presentation, and fun, this should clearly be one of Spain's top restaurants. Recommended if you love good food and architecture.

We came away feeling rejected, and my boyfriend's view of the hotel has completely changed. I'm from Pontevedra, have family in Raxó, and we were both visiting from overseas for Christmas. He isn't local and is a fan of hotels, so after seeing Pepe Vieira on tablethotel's website, we thought about booking a night for New Year's Eve while we were in Pontevedra for the holidays. The price seemed quite cheap, so on December 28 we went to see whether it lived up to our expectations. We arrived at 5:30 pm and asked to look at the lobby and services. The front desk person said the lobby was for guests only and wouldn't let us explain why we were there. She kept saying we needed a booking to walk around. When I asked, “So do we have to leave?” she replied, “Yes, please!” in a very rude, nonchalant way, and ushered us away from the entrance. It was a disgusting experience from a supposed five-star hotel. I think they should treat visitors and patrons to a certain standard. Whoever arrives at the door is there out of interest, not by chance, so at the very least the front desk could gently explain the services and facilities. Whatever the price, we no longer feel the hotel is worth staying at.
