The mattresses are so thin you can feel the bed slats through them, and there isn’t enough room for everyone’s bags and gear. The automatic lights are a pain if you need the bathroom at night. It’s a tiny apartment crammed with upwards of 12 people. Spend the extra 2-3 euros and stay in a real albergue. By far my worst night on the Camino.

The owner is what made this a five-star stay for me. She was so helpful and took the time to make sure we were comfortable. The hostel was clean, and both the room temperature and how full it was felt just right. It had the feel of staying in someone’s home.

Maria, the proprietor, was great. The hostel was quiet, and everyone there was walking the Portuguese Camino de Santiago. I only found it because the other places in town were full, and I’m glad they were.

They’re very friendly and helpful here. We had a great stay in the 8-bed room, and there’s also a double room and one with 2 single beds.
