Finca Victoriana

It isn’t accessible, and I’m fed up with places claiming to be when they aren’t. Being on one floor and having a shower seat doesn’t make this house accessible. An electric wheelchair can’t get past the impossible step at the entrance. There’s a metal ramp from the garden, but a column on the porch blocks the route, and there’s still the step. The entrance hall doesn’t allow a turn, the doors are standard, and the shower has a step too. They also don’t say that the owners are there and share the garden, so how much you can use it is limited. The listing mentions a barbecue, but it’s a portable one on a small porch, while the owners have a built-in barbecue and gazebo. Keep that in mind. Checkout is by 12:00 on Sunday because these are “hotel” hours. That matters when people come to a country house for the weekend and want to enjoy the garden, since they’re often allowed to leave after Sunday lunch.

I’ve been coming to this house for about six years, and it’s been exceptional the whole time. The owners are lovely and always ready to help. Having everything on one floor makes a big difference for me because of my mobility issues.

Even with the bad weather outside, it was warm and cozy inside. The beds were comfortable, everything was very clean, and the lovely house had all we needed. The owner gives you plenty of freedom, while still being helpful with suggestions for places to see or eat. We spent the weekend at the Finca and everything went perfectly. We’ll be back.

The owners’ hospitality and the peaceful grounds really stood out. Spectacular views, too. We’ll be back.
