The hostal is nicely spread out and the room was great. The lady who checked me in was nice, and it was cool inside, which suited this overheating biker. There’s a garage to keep the bike secure.

Families with kids can make good use of the huge garden, games, barbecue and swimming pool. The place is just off the main road, with a restaurant opposite, and only a 5-minute drive from Ribadeo and Las Catedrales Beach. A spectacular base for visiting Ribadeo and the area. We loved it and will be back.

Pepa, the owner, was lovely and very kind when we arrived. We stayed one night in this charming place, which was well looked after and had tastefully renovated rooms. There’s parking on site, and it’s very close to Playa de las Catedrales and Ribadeo.

I hope your mother is okay. I’d booked by phone in the morning instead of through booking, and was told that was fine and I didn’t need to make a separate reservation. Later, I called to say I’d be late and the lady said not to worry, she lived there and would wait for me. I arrived at 8:30 pm. The person who helped me said the woman who’d taken my call, her mother, was in hospital and couldn’t confirm the booking. My name wasn’t on the list. She said she wouldn’t leave me out on the street that night, but they had no rooms for the dog. The way she spoke to me was very bad. I’d like to think she was nervous because of her mother, but when I can’t look after people properly in my own business, I delegate. I don’t treat anyone badly. At another point in my life I might have cursed her out as soon as she raised her voice, but I’m not looking to argue these days. I hope, for the hotel's sake, the person helping me was just having a bad day. Thankfully, I found somewhere else that waited for me, and I slept at another hotel both nights. If this had happened in summer, I’d have been left with nowhere to go with my dog.
