O Cabazo - 3 estrellas superior -

We had a wonderful time at O Cobazo. The hotel has been renovated and put together with care, and it’s very comfortable. The employees were warm and helpful, which made the stay even nicer. We’d happily recommend it.

There’s plenty of free parking at the hotel, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. It’s in a great spot in Ribadeo, and I’d readily recommend it to anyone staying in town or nearby.

The family running this hotel made us feel welcome right away, greeting us at the door. Our room was spotless, large and wheelchair accessible, with doors opening onto a Juliet balcony. Some rooms have bigger balconies. We had lovely views of the hills and River Eo. We skipped breakfast, but ate dinner there a few times and really liked the food, especially the squid with rice. There’s a small bar for an evening drink, and bars and cafes in town are just a short walk away if you fancy a change.

We brought our bikes and a packed car for a longer stay in Spain, so the secure off-street parking was a real bonus. The hotel itself is beautiful, friendly and family run. It deserves more than three stars, and felt more comfortable than some four or five star places I’ve stayed in. Our superior room was almost like a junior suite, with a six-foot-wide bed, sofa, armchair and large bathroom. There was also a balcony with glorious estuary and mountain views. Breakfast was great, with toast, croissants, cake, biscuits, hot food such as eggs and bacon, plus coffee, tea and juice. We enjoyed dinner too, especially the big, succulent steaks with hand-cut chips. I’d come to this part of Spain just to stay here.
