Koa Camping - Koa Escuela de Surf

Everyone at Koa Surf School was friendly, and we had a great time. Our private lesson coach explained the theory first, then helped us put it into practice in the water. After two lessons, our surfing improved massively. Highly recommend!

Claudio at Koa Escuela de Surf in Somo gave us a thorough, professional theory introduction, which got us ready for the lessons. He adjusted things for us as a couple, so we both felt comfortable and challenged, and his encouragement made the time in the water a lot of fun. His ongoing feedback was really useful, and we could feel our technique improving over the two days. The equipment was top quality. Just be aware that you have to carry the boards to the beach, about a five-minute walk. That didn’t bother us, but it might not suit everyone. We highly recommend Koa, and can’t wait to surf again.

The family warmth and community spirit are what still define Koa, even though the building has since been expanded and improved. We first came to this beautiful part of Spain 11 years ago, when Koa had only recently opened, and Victor and Tere welcomed us so warmly and shared their love and knowledge of surfing. We had a brilliant time. Returning earlier this summer, we were thrilled to see how much Koa has continued to improve. The school sits right beside the stunning Playa de Somo, and its lessons and services are tailored to your needs. The teaching and equipment are top quality. I can’t recommend Koa highly enough. It’s such a great place to learn and enjoy surfing!
