Hotel Riaz is a modern, attractive little place with just six rooms in peaceful Roa. The rooms are stylish and look out over the Ribera del Duero landscape. It also has its own winery. Acis showed us around and explained everything. The bodega is luxurious, and the cellar is beautiful, with amazing lighting. The wines were superb, definitely worth a visit. Breakfast, though, was very simple.

The Paramo de Guzman cheese factory burned down in 2014, so we now make the same cheese with the same sheep's milk, employees, cheesemaker, and know-how, using rented space at another nearby cheese factory. We're also a winery, Raiz de Guzman, and our employees work at both places. You're welcome to visit the winery to taste the wine and cheese. That's a good plan too.

The wine cellar is the heart of Hotel La Raíz. We got to explore its different spaces, and between the impressive selection and quality of the wines, it felt like the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the flavors of the region. The hotel itself has a real soul, and Beatriz's personal touch made a big difference. She was warm, kind, and attentive to every detail, making us feel at home while still giving us all the luxuries of a top-tier hotel. That kind of genuine, dedicated hospitality is hard to find these days. This was one of our best stays in a long time.
