That homemade food was delicious and well worth the money.

We went for lunch as a pair and had booked ahead. The local Tempranillo we chose on the waitress's suggestion was really enjoyable, and the porcini mushrooms were quite good. The chorizo croquettes were creamy and tasty, though the stew ones felt dense and bland. The braised pork cheeks were decent but nothing special, and the cheesecake didn't impress me either. We were given a quiet, tucked-away table, though its tablecloths made me think of a children's dining room. Friends had recommended the place, so I expected more. If I come back to the area, I'd likely give other places a try first.

The food was mostly good, but the cod was a letdown: it arrived crumbled with potato wedges. The meal felt far too expensive for what we got, especially with that big discount for paying cash. Service was just average. The setting has lovely views, though a cat climbing around on the rocks beside us made me a little uneasy.

The attentive service and fantastic setting added to the meal, but what stayed with me was the food. I've rarely eaten somewhere that brought back my grandmother's cooking so strongly. They serve traditional dishes from the region.

The medallions of venison sirloin were just right for us, with that mineral taste and astringent finish that big game has. I know that flavor isn't for everybody. They came with homemade potatoes and grilled peppers. The toro sirloin steak was also cooked perfectly, with a strong, delicious flavor, though it tasted noticeably young, perhaps under five years old. We enjoyed the warm Torta del Casar with toasted bread, and the five assorted croquettes were flavorful, creamy, well filled and clearly made with skill. They were a little greasy, and cold inside at first, but the staff replaced them without any fuss. The staff were friendly and professional, though sometimes a bit absent from the dining room. Good food at good prices, and the town and views are beautiful. The à la carte bill averages €25-€30, which isn't expensive for what's offered. We most likely will be back. Keep it up!
