Everything else was fine, but the lack of hot water caused real trouble. One house also had no heating, and neither issue was fixed over the weekend. We were there to work with autistic children, who rely on their routines, so having to take them next door to shower was especially disruptive.
There weren't even basic things like salt or sugar in the kitchen. They aren't necessities, but having them would have been a nice touch. The house itself is spacious, though winter sounds rough there: the heating leaves a lot to be desired, and however long you let the water run, it never gets hot. With the cold already on you, a cold shower is about the best you can expect.
Vanessa is such a sweetheart, and she works hard. Her rustic little tavern in Robledillo de la Jara feels welcoming, and the food is fantastic. I love going there. Pay her a visit, you'll love it. 👍😀
The house was filthy, and when we got there it was like an iceberg. Then at 5 pm on Christmas Eve we ran out of gas, with no spare canisters available. What a lack of foresight. A horrible experience, I can't recommend it.
I know the place is in my town, but I can't really comment since I've only walked past nearby.
