La Guzmana de Ronda

The mountain views are spectacular, and the large pool sits beside a cozy garden lit up in the evening. Henri and Angèle made us feel so welcome. They offer breakfast baskets, and there’s a roomy, fully equipped kitchen for guests to use, plus drinks and tapas in the evening. This is an excellent Finca just outside Ronda, and it felt like much more than somewhere to sleep. We also loved their family-made, artisanal cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil. It tastes like heaven. We’d definitely come back.

We ended up staying in and cooking on two of our three nights because the garden views and pool made it so pleasant to be there. There’s a bar, barbecue and lots of room to relax. The Finca has a rustic, charming feel and sits somewhere peaceful, about a five-minute drive from Ronda. Our room was lovely, and the shared kitchen is well equipped and thoughtfully laid out for use during the day. Henri and Clara were attentive, helpful hosts, and nothing felt like too much trouble. We give it five stars.

The kitchen was really useful on evenings when we didn’t feel like going out to eat. We had a lovely few days, with great rooms and a really relaxing setting. It’s an easy 10-minute drive to Ronda, so a nice little escape from the town’s hustle and bustle.

There’s no catering, but you can order breakfast baskets for € 8 p.p., and there’s a small fridge in each room. The shared kitchen has a fridge for keeping drinks cool and is available for cooking. You’ll find places to sit all around the grounds, whether you want to eat, read or play a game. The big garden has a large pool, shower, plenty of loungers and space, plus shaded parking for your car. Set among olive trees about a 10-minute drive from town, the finca has seven spacious, comfortable rooms with especially lovely furniture and decor. I’d have liked more light in the room and cupboards, and fresh towels when we left the used ones on the bathroom floor. Otherwise, everything was great.
