Everything is close by, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The internet worked perfectly, and the price felt fair. My room was very cold, though the mattress was good, if a bit too soft. It wasn’t very quiet inside, so earplugs would help you sleep. Enjoy your stay. :)

The staff were friendly and accommodating, which took some of the sting out of a stay full of little frustrations at Hotel Virgen de los Reyes. We were welcomed by a cheerful receptionist, and when I told her the air conditioning in our first room sounded like a herd of elephants, she kindly offered us a different room. That room had no hooks, kettle, or cups, so I was left wondering where to put my things and how to make morning tea. The shower was another problem: its head was broken, and the water switched from hot to cold about every ten seconds. I never knew whether I’d finish feeling refreshed or just confused. It all had a sitcom sort of feel, with one odd twist after another. The staff’s kindness helped, but be ready for a few quirks.

David was incredibly kind after I left my Hoka shoes behind. He let me know they’d been found and sent them to our daughter’s place in Granada while we were still in Seville. That family-like care earned them a loyal customer, and we’d come back. The staff were wonderful throughout, attentive and polite, with smiles and helpful English. They gave us great ideas for things to see and do and places to eat. The location is convenient and everything is within walking distance, though the town is walkable enough that another hotel might have offered better amenities. The area’s food is excellent. A dry room and air conditioning were good to have, but don’t expect the comforts of a large chain or a four-star place. Also, there’s no parking. If you’re driving, consider a hotel with parking: this one relies on street spaces, and we were lucky to find one around the corner. That’s why I marked down the location. One morning there was no water from the shower or sink, which was frustrating. Maybe too many people were using water at once. The floor picks up dirt easily, so bring house shoes. And remember to leave the cleaning sign on the door if you want your room serviced. You leave your key when you go out and pick it up when you return. It’s unusual, but I felt safe since the staff got to know us.

The shower had good pressure and hot water, but that curtain setup practically guarantees a flooded floor. The soap comes in packets so hard to open you need scissors. Pretty aggravating. The bed was passable, but it sits on such a flimsy frame that it shifts around the room when you roll over. WiFi is free, though it barely works. This is right in the center, so everything’s a minute away, along with street voices all night and noise from the hallway. There are plenty of bars and restaurants around the corner, and paid parking is a short walk away, but you can’t drive to the hotel. For 70€ a night, the so-called queen room for two felt cheap, and the mattress wasn’t very big. It’s okay, I guess, but no more than that.
