Casa Rural El Lio

Parking was easy, and the neighborhood was very quiet. The house is near central Ruidera and the lagoons, and we found it extremely comfortable and perfectly clean. We'd happily come back.

We were completely at ease here with our two young children, thanks to how spacious and comfortable the house is. It's in a great spot and is very well looked after, with everything needed for a pleasant stay. It was exceptionally clean, too. Congratulations to the owners for making such a lovely impression. We'll definitely return.

Good morning. That was a horrible experience, and I'm sharing it so no one else goes through the same thing. The owner was the worst part. There were eight of us arriving on Friday, though four got there first. We agreed with the owner that we'd pay our share then and the others would pay theirs when they arrived. He accepted, and that part went smoothly. It was 5°C outside. The heating worked until midnight, but at 7:00 a.m. we woke up to no heat and no hot water. We tried to warm water on the ceramic hob, but couldn't get it to work, and nobody had shown us how to use it. One person went to Hotel Guadiana, where the owner was, to explain the problem. I said, “the house is not in any condition at the moment.” He raised his voice and swore the whole time. We asked him to calm down and explained that we just wanted to know if he could fix it. He was agitated and insulting, but came back with us to inspect the house. The boiler had switched off, something we understood can happen in any home. What felt most degrading was that he then put us out on the street like dogs, without offering another option. We asked politely if we could talk, a courtesy we felt he hadn't shown us. He just said no and ordered us out of his house. The house had been well maintained the whole time. I don't think anyone should be treated this way, especially two families being thrown out with no reason. Regards.

We were staying there a week ago when a major fire broke out in the village. Flames came within 100 meters of the house, and with several small children with us, we decided the safest, most sensible thing was to leave quickly. We packed as fast as we could. The village had been closed off, and vehicles couldn't get through. The owner is now calling us slobs because we didn't leave the house perfectly clean, and says the fire was our problem, not his. We regret not leaving it in perfect condition, but this was an exceptional, upsetting situation for everyone, and he seems to have no empathy for it. I think there are better ways to deal with something like this. I've attached a picture of part of the fire, taken from inside the house.
