We stayed in the Club section, close to the excellent beach. The Garden section is across the road and has the main restaurant, children's pool and miniclub. The rooms were nice, WiFi in the room was free and decent, and water was free with dinner. Food at both breakfast and dinner had plenty of variety, and we had no complaints about it. It's a great setup for families with children, and I can recommend it. One thing we'd like sorted before we leave: our child's sweater was left at breakfast this morning. We came back an hour later and it was gone, and nobody had handed it to the staff. We asked staff at dinner, but it still hasn't been returned. Whoever took it should bring it to reception, please. We'll be here for two more days.

The pools and location were good, and the breakfast had a decent choice and quality. But it was so packed that breakfast became an unpleasant experience. We were often left looking for a table and had to clear one ourselves. We came in the final week of the season, and one of the two restaurants closed while the hotel was still pretty full. Breakfast and dinner both felt like pushing through a crowded Christmas shopping mall, with overwhelmed staff. We only tried dinner once, despite other family members having paid for half board. The only open dining room was huge, brightly lit, clinical and noisy. Getting to the food through the crowds was hard, and what we found was bland, poor quality and tepid. Desserts looked synthetic and brightly coloured, the burgers were dry and bland, paella was mostly rice and courgette, and the bolognese was watery and tasteless. We cut our losses and ate out. Our one-bedroom garden apartment was spacious, clean and bright, but had a cracked bedroom window, a swollen fridge-cover door that scraped the floor, and a toilet flush that worked only some of the time. This was room 2308. We didn't report it to reception because it should have been obvious to whoever cleaned the room, and it wasn't our job to point it out. This is definitely a family hotel, so don't come without children. It has a lot of potential, but isn't hitting the mark yet.

The service was the best part for us. Staff spoke as many as three or four languages and kept being polite and accommodating, even when under pressure. Special mention to Fran Núñez and the pool bar colleagues. The kids club worked really well, with staff taking the children for half a day. We went in mid-July, when the hotel was full, but it didn't feel too crowded. The facilities were in good shape, with several pools, and the hotel is good for families. Our apartment had enough space for four, a terrace and comfortable beds. The sandy beach is beautiful. We had a really nice stay and would love to come back another year.

We won't be back. The rooms were dirty, old and poorly maintained, and the restaurant was extremely noisy with no service at all. All-inclusive cocktails were included, but tasted awful. The food was terrible. No matter whether we chose tuna, chicken, lamb or pork, it was overcooked and dry to the point of being inedible. Pasta was overcooked and completely bland too. Most canteens serve better meals, so save your money. If you really have to stay, book just one night. The hotel is split by a main road, so each trip to the restaurant or pools meant crossing it. The one positive was the great location right by the beach. Tim Schadt Room 2024

The all-inclusive drinks were a real plus, with lots of options, good quality and nothing watered down. The international buffet suited the varied guests and was tasty and varied, though we'd have liked a little more traditional Spanish food. Evening entertainment and shows were fine, but seemed a bit weaker this time since it was our second visit. We felt at home again at Hipotels Mediterráneo Club in Sa Coma. Our sea-view apartment had stunning sunrises and sunsets. The rooms are a little older, but spotless. The pool area was fantastic, especially the quiet garden pool and its bar, away from the bustle. Our five-year-old son learned to dive there. We also loved that the pools use salt water instead of chlorine, which felt much nicer on our skin and eyes. Direct beach access was just a few steps away. It's a comfortable hotel with plenty of amenities and a fantastic team. We'll definitely return.
